Stephanie Alexander 'Kitchen Garden Program'

While at Cannon Hill State School, all students engage in growing vegetables and fruit, caring for chickens, and cooking in the specially designed kitchen.

These lunch meals are regularly available for all students to purchase and sit around tables to eat together. This service replaces the former school tuckshop and is more like a student provided café meal with healthy and hearty food prepared. The school pizza oven is put to work each term to provide some of the best pizzas you can imagine.

Children learn to grow and enjoy vegetables and fruit that they might otherwise avoid.
