Absentee Policy

PublishingPageContent
Under Queensland law, you must make sure your child attends school all day, every school day, unless they have an acceptable reason.
Should your child be absent from school or arriving late, you will need to notify the office via SMS to (0429) 776 430, with your child's name, class, reason for absence (or lateness) and your relationship to the child.
Parents and carers may also telephone the school office (after 8am) on (07) 3902 3333 to advise of absences, late (after 9am) arrivals, and to arrange early (before 2.55pm) departures.
For absences of greater than 10 school days, and exemption application form needs to be completed by the parent/guardian, accompanied by supporting documentation or evidence for the absence. The school Principal will then make a decision to grant or not grant the exemption based on the supporting documentation provided, and the student's parents will be notified of the decision. An exemption application form can be obtained from the school office.
Should unauthorised absenteeism persist, the school will follow guidelines set out by Education Queensland.
