Student Resource Scheme

Cannon Hill State School operates a Student Resource Scheme for Prep to Year 6.

This scheme has been fully endorsed by the school and the P&C. The money raised is used to enhance learning resources.

Detailed information outlining our Student Resource Scheme is provided at the beginning of each school year. Parents who elect not to join will be provided with a Year Level Prerequisite List on request from the office.

The idea behind our student resource scheme is that we can buy vital educational resources in bulk, and share the cost. This typically offers a significant saving in terms of both time and money.

For an affordable Annual Fee, families participating in the Student Resource Scheme are able to cover the cost of:
- Reproduced class workbooks and worksheets, and teacher-prepared material which substitutes for the Maths textbook;
- Student material used for classroom projects and investigations, consumables and/or cooking materials;
- Art and craft stationery, writing and drawing equipment in excess of what is provided by school grants and booklists;
- Software and web-based personal licences (eg Reading Plus / Lexia, Maths On-Line, Literacy pro).

For example, in 2018, a $75 contribution for each Year 1-6 student is expected to deliver approximately $435 worth of value, and a significant saving for parents who would otherwise be expected to purchase the necessary resources separately.

Please contact the office should you have any further questions regarding the scheme, or to make an appointment with the Principal if you are suffering genuine financial hardship.
