Teachers organise educational excursions during the school year to extend children's learning. A notice will be sent home informing you of any changes to routine and costs involved.
Invoices will be issued via email for excursions, camp payments and other school activities such as swimming and the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program.
Please ensure that payment deadlines are met so your child can participate.
At Cannon Hill State School, we believe that school camps can be a rewarding and enriching experience. In addition to the excitement of being away from home and the thrill of new adventures, we believe school camps provide:
· opportunities for children to build their social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills;
· unique learning experiences aligned with curriculum outcomes and opportunities for the application of learning to the real world;
· team building experiences; and
· opportunities to build and practice resilience, resourcefulness, reciprocity and reflectiveness.
Students are invited to attend school camps from Year 3 onwards. Year 3/4 camps are three day, two night camps. Year 5/6 camps are five day, four night camps.
CHSS offers varied camp programs to suit our desired outcomes for students and each camp has a different learning focus.
Four camps are offered in total, with further information on each camp (including cost and dates) provided in the lead-up.
