In addition to regular Physical Education classes, students participate in Sports Days during the school year. Some students may also participate in District Sport, Free Morning Sports, or other optional sporting activities on school grounds.
Sports Days
Each winter, children in Prep to Year 6 take part in a Sports Day.
Events for Prep-2 are of a less competitive nature and include fun activities such as tabloids. For students in Years 3-6, the program is more competitive and includes sprints, relays, ball games and field events.
Children are selected from this group to represent the school at the district sports.
Parents are encouraged and welcome to attend sports days to support the children.
District Sport
Cannon Hill State School has always had a strong representation at district sporting events and also has firm ties to community club sport.
In past years, many of our students have gone on to be elite athletes.
Free Morning Sports
A range of sporting activities such as: tennis, basketball, hockey, gymnastics, golf and running club is organised for all students and parents on Mondays to Thursdays during school term.
Events vary each term and are held from 8am to 8.45am on the oval or the tennis and basketball courts.
Details of each term's Free Morning Sports program will be notified via Konnective.
