Italian is our Languages subject. Lessons commence in Prep and continue through to the end of Year 6 with 1 hour lessons from Prep to Year 4 and 1.5h of Italian for Years 5 and 6.
Our enthusiastic Italian teacher provides a rich language and cultural experience including Italian Day Celebrations (Una Giornata Fantastica!) and incursions. Alongside classroom teaching, our teacher ensures Prep to Year 3 students enjoy learning one-on-one with our Polyglot apps (Early Language Learning Australia – ELLA) and Years 4 to 6 home in on their skills one-on-one with Education Perfect, an online platform that allows teachers to personalise learning for each student. Every year, students from Year 2-Year 6 are invited to compete in the Italian Calligram Competition, a state-wide competition through the Italian Language Centre. Senior students are invited to compete in speech competitions. Through these experiences we are committed to ensuring that every child is developing their potential in language and learning to understand another culture.
