Cannon Hill State School is an Independent Public School enrolling primarily from Cannon Hill, Seven Hills and Morningside.
Enrolment Management Plan
We have an Enrolment Management Plan to ensure sufficient facilities are available for in-catchment students, meaning we enrol firstly from within the catchment area and then fill additional enrolment vacancies on the basis of application.
Families hoping to enrol students are strongly encouraged to contact the school as soon as possible, so we can ensure our funding allocation is appropriate for the school population.
To determine when your child can commence their Prep year, view the prep enrolments table. From 2017, it is compulsory for Queensland children to undertake Prep prior to Year 1.
We run a thorough Pre-Prep Program (weekly, during October-November of each year) to help familiarise the next year's Prep students and their families with the school. Enrolments for Prep are appreciated before June in the preceding year, where possible, to assist the school in the planning of staff and classrooms for the start of the new school year.
Open Day and Tours
Cannon Hill State School hosts an annual Open Day (usually in early May) for members of the community who wish to acquaint themselves with our facilities and approach.
Interested parties may also make an appointment to tour the school (or meet with senior staff) at other mutually convenient times.
How to enrol
To best meet the needs of every student in our school, each family needs to attend an interview with the Principal prior to enrolment.
Enrolment Expression of Interest forms are available from the office, or download the department's enrolment form (PDF, 336KB) on this website.
Please contact us if you want to know more about the enrolment process.
